Even when magnesium sulfate (MgS04) is available, providers are often uncomfortable administering it for prevention and management of severe pre-eclampsia/eclampsia (PE/E), as there is no standardized concentration for the solution and the diagnostic and management scenarios can be complex.
With that in mind, MCHIP has created a computer animation teaching tool. This tool provides service providers and trainers with a new way to improve their understanding of complex diagnostic and management standards, and adds some fun to learning.

The teaching program includes a tool where the learner can enter any concentration of MgS04 and determine the appropriate preparation and administration —eliminating guesswork or calculations. This interactive tool standardizes information, captures critical information providers need to know, and can be used in group-based learning situations, on-site supervision and mentoring and learner initiated self-study for knowledge reinforcement.
